Founded in 1999 by retired Army Helicopter Pilot Harry Normington, Savannah Powder Coat is the Low Country’s Premier Powder Coating Facility. Powder Coating is an art that requires a real love of the craft and nothing beats experience. Having powder coated hundreds of thousands of parts and working with the regions top companies for their powder coating needs, Savannah Powder Coat, located in Rincon, Georgia, right outside of Savannah, has a tremendous passion for turning out the best product for both their individual and commercial clients.
Savannah Powder Coat’s President is Justin Buckner, Harry’s son-in-law, who has been there almost since the beginning. He “took over the reins” of the company in 2008 along with his wife Kristen who serves as Vice President. Justin is very accessible to all of his clients and he is almost always onsite and actively working each project. He is extremely proud of his staff that he considers to be “the hardest workers around.”
Powder Coating is the application of organic powder by electrostatic attraction to metal. Once cured by heat the finish is a smooth, hard skin.
Sandblasting or bead blasting is a generic term for the process of smoothing, shaping and cleaning a hard surface by forcing solid particles across that surface at high speeds. This removes contaminants and prepares the surface so that the powder coating adheres properly.
